Privacy Policy
Effective: July 28, 2026
Easier Chords is designed to work with as little personal information as practical. No account is required, and the site currently uses no advertising or third-party analytics.
Who operates the site
Easier Chords is operated by Avishai Niazov in Israel. For privacy and data requests, email contact@easierchords.com.
Information the service handles
- Catalog searches: When a search has no published result, the search phrase may be stored with a request count so the library can be improved. The application does not store a raw IP address with that record. Please do not enter personal information into the search field.
- Chord sheets: Text pasted into the chord-sheet box is processed in your browser and is not intentionally sent to or stored by Easier Chords. If you submit a chord-page URL, the URL is sent to the server so it can request that page and return an extracted chord sheet; the sheet is not added to the public catalog automatically.
- YouTube identification: When you submit a supported YouTube link, Easier Chords sends the video ID to the YouTube Data API and receives limited public metadata such as the video title, channel title, and language. It does not request or download audio, video, captions, transcripts, or lyrics, and it does not store the returned YouTube metadata as a user profile.
- Session cookies: Strictly functional session cookies are used for request-rate limits and to avoid counting the same missing search repeatedly in a short period. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Technical logs: The hosting provider may process ordinary server-log information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and security events to operate and protect the service.
Why information is used
Information is used to provide search and link-processing features, protect the service from misuse, diagnose reliability or security problems, and understand which missing songs users would find useful. Depending on applicable law, this processing may rely on providing the requested service, legitimate interests in operating and improving it, or legal obligations.
Service providers and external sites
Hosting is provided by Hostinger. YouTube-link identification uses YouTube API Services operated by Google. Google processes information under the Google Privacy Policy; Google also provides security and account-permission controls. Submitting a chord-page URL also causes the server to contact the website identified by that URL. External services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and security
Functional session data is intended to be short-lived. Missing-search phrases are currently retained until they are reviewed or manually deleted, and hosting logs follow the hosting provider’s operational retention settings. Easier Chords uses access controls, restricted server credentials, HTTPS, input validation, and rate limits, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can use the chord simplification tools without an account. You can avoid the YouTube integration by searching with text instead, and you can avoid the server-side chord-page fetcher by pasting a sheet for local browser processing. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to complain to an applicable data-protection authority.
Children
Easier Chords is a general-audience music tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Do not submit personal information through search or chord-sheet inputs.
Changes
This policy may change as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
